LATINOS TAKE OVER THE STREETS OF SAN ANTONIO
TENS OF THOUSANDS OF SAN ANTONIO SPURS FANS CELEBRATE 5TH CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE
SAN ANTONIO - The streets of downtown San Antonio were quickly filled with pandemonium as tens of thousand Spurs fans immediatley decended into the central business core after their team defeated the Miami Heat to win their fifth NBA basketball championship title.
Spurs Fans Waited a Full Year to Avenge Last Year's Loss
In what many across the city have described as a celebration the likes of which have "never been seen before", the questions of the night were: Why are the emotions so much higher for this championship series than others?; and, Why was this year's rapid assembly of fans so much bigger than before?
Much of the reason for the size of last night's huge crowd can be attributed to the fact that last year the San Antonio Spurs (and their fans) experienced the heartbreak of losing in Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Championship Series. This occured in a game where the Spurs lost by falling behind with only seconds remaining in the game.
According to SAPD, last night's assembly had no arrests. It seems both the Spurs and their fans can both be known for having class!
